Fix for Windows 10 Security Update Enrollment Issue

Are you having trouble signing up for Windows 10 security updates? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you enroll in the Extended Security Update (ESU) program and keep your PC protected against vulnerabilities.

To start, check if you’re eligible for the ESU program by going to Settings and selecting Windows Update. If you don’t see the option, try backing up your settings to the cloud using the built-in Windows Backup tool. This will allow you to enroll in the program for free.

If that doesn’t work, follow these steps:

1. Ensure you’re signed in as an administrator or have administrative rights on your PC.
2. Check if you’re running the latest version of Windows 10 22H2 and install any available updates.
3. Go to Settings, select System, and then click About to confirm your OS version.
4. If you still can’t find the enroll option, try using a command-line tweak: press Win + R, type CMD, right-click on the result, and run it as administrator. Then, follow these steps:
* sc.exe config DiagTrack start=auto
* sc.exe start DiagTrack
* reg.exe add “HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Policies\Microsoft\FeatureManagement\Overrides” /v 4011992206 /t REG_DWORD /d 2 /f
5. Exit the command prompt and restart your PC.
6. Open a new command prompt and type cmd /c ClipESUConsumer.exe -evaluateEligibility.
7. Restart your PC again.
8. Go back to Windows Update and you should now see the ESU enroll option available.
