Street sweeping season is here in St. Paul and Minneapolis. Over the next few weeks, drivers who park on city streets should be aware of temporary “No Parking” signs indicating when their street will be cleaned.
If you’re caught parking illegally during a street sweep, be prepared to face fines or towing to the impound lot. The same rules apply to St. Paul’s 530 miles of residential streets, where sweeping began last week.
In Minneapolis, pink “No Parking” signs will appear at least 24 hours in advance, specifying which day and time street cleaning takes place. Parking is banned from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on the day of sweeping, or until the signs are removed.
