Microsoft has ended support for its popular office suites, Office 2016 and Office 2019. Windows 10 users have a lifeline with Extended Security Updates (ESU), but the Office suites are not compatible with these updates. This means no more security fixes or bug patches will be provided.
Using outdated software can pose significant security risks, including vulnerabilities to threats. Microsoft is recommending users upgrade to newer versions of its office suites, such as Microsoft 365 E3, Office 365 E3, or LibreOffice, which offers a free alternative with better features and performance. Home users can also upgrade to Office Home 2024 for $149.99 or Office Home & Business 2024 for $249.99.
