Metallica held their fourth Helping Hands Concert and Auction in Los Angeles, with the fundraiser taking place at the YouTube Theater on December 13th. The event was hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and featured special guest performances by Sammy Hagar, Michael Anthony, Joe Satriani, and Kenny Aronoff.
The concert supports Metallica’s All Within My Hands foundation, which focuses on workforce education, disaster relief, and fighting hunger. The proceeds from the show will benefit the charity directly.
Metallica performed a five-song acoustic set with Avi Vinocur and classically-trained duo SistaStrings. They also played an electric set, featuring rare tracks like “The Unforgiven II” and “Fuel.” The band was joined by Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament for a performance of “Hit The Lights.”
In a statement, Metallica’s James Hetfield discussed the importance of the All Within My Hands project, saying it goes against the traditional mentality of taking what you need. He emphasized the value of giving back and stated that it’s “so true.” The band’s setlist included a mix of old and new tracks, showcasing their diverse discography.
The concert is part of Metallica’s ongoing commitment to philanthropy and community support through the All Within My Hands foundation.
