Teens Killed, Three Injured in Chisago County Car Crash

Two teenagers died and three others were seriously injured in a head-on car crash over the weekend in Chisago County. The incident occurred on Saturday morning near the intersection of Stacy and Ivywood trails. A Toyota Camry and 4Runner collided, with alcohol believed to be a contributing factor.

Jax Affolter, a 15-year-old passenger in the Camry, died at the scene. He was described by his friends as “a wonderful kid” who left a lasting impact on those around him. The Chisago Lakes Hockey Association paid tribute to Jax’s memory, stating he was an excellent big brother and teammate.

Two other teenagers, including a 14-year-old driver, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Another passenger in the 4Runner, aged 18, received medical attention after being transported by ambulance to HCMC.

The incident has sparked a community response, with the hockey association organizing a meal train and asking people to leave their lights on and display hockey sticks in memory of Jax Affolter.
