MicroStrategy Buys More Bitcoin, Approaching $50 Billion Portfolio

MicroStrategy, a business intelligence firm led by CEO Michael Saylor, has hinted that it bought more Bitcoin over the weekend. If confirmed, this would mark the company’s first acquisition with an average purchase price of over $100,000. The hint was made in a post on X, where Saylor asked whether his company’s portfolio tracker, SaylorTracker, was “missing a green dot.”

The tracker shows that MicroStrategy bought Bitcoin at an average purchase price of $97,862, $95,976, and $98,783 over the past three Mondays. If another batch is purchased, it could put the firm within reach of a $50 billion Bitcoin portfolio.

As of December 15, MicroStrategy held 423,650 Bitcoin worth more than $43.6 billion. The company’s strong performance has earned it a spot on the Nasdaq-100 index, with its stock price up 496.4% year-to-date. Saylor has stated that he plans to continue buying Bitcoin, even if the price reaches $1 million.
