Windows 10 Users Receiving End-of-Life Messages Despite Extended Support

Microsoft has confirmed that some users are receiving end-of-life messages in Windows 10 settings despite already qualifying for extended security updates. The error occurred after the KB5066791 update was pushed on October 14, 2025, and affects Enterprise LTSC, IoT Enterprise, and other versions of the operating system. However, Microsoft assures users that these versions will continue to receive security updates until at least 2027. Users who are not part of the Extended Security Update (ESU) program or have opted out can still sign up for the program to extend their support.
