Former Minneapolis Public Works Director Robin Hutcheson is set to become the new chair of the Metropolitan Council in December. She replaces Charlie Zelle and will lead the regional planning agency for the Twin Cities area. Governor Tim Walz praised Hutcheson as a “proven leader” with experience improving road safety, infrastructure, and collaboration. A veteran transportation expert, Hutcheson previously served in key roles under the Biden administration and is looking forward to working with Council members, local leaders, and residents to build a stronger, more connected region for Minnesotans.
