The “profiles” feature on Android allows you to create multiple user profiles similar to the “users” feature on Windows or macOS. Each profile has its own settings, apps, and data, making it easy to separate work and personal life. You can set up a new profile for work or focus by creating a distraction-free environment.
To create a new profile:
1. Go to Settings > Accounts.
2. Tap “Create a new profile” and give it a name and optional profile picture.
3. Follow the setup process, including logging in with a Google account and setting up security features.
4. Once set up, you can switch between profiles by tapping the profile icon in the notification shade or using the Dialer app.
Shared data is not transferred when creating a new profile, so you’ll need to reinstall apps and sync data separately. However, some settings like Wi-Fi passwords are shared between profiles.
The “Work Profile” feature is different from regular user profiles and is managed by your company’s IT department. If your phone doesn’t support multiple users, you may still have access to a Work Profile, but it won’t offer the same level of customization.
