Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 26220.7070 Released to Dev & Beta Channels

Microsoft has released the latest version of its Windows 11 operating system, specifically designed for developers and beta testers (Dev & Beta Channels). The update comes with several new features, improvements, and bug fixes.

**Switching between channels:** If you’re an Insider in the Dev Channel, now is the time to switch to the Beta Channel. This window will be open until Microsoft releases similar updates across both channels.

The update includes new features such as Widgets, Smart App Control, and changes to File Explorer. These features are being gradually rolled out for Insiders who have turned on the toggle to get the latest updates.

Some notable improvements include:

* Enhanced Quick Machine Recovery in Windows
* Upgrades to Smart App Control
* Re-enabling people icons under the “Activity” column in File Explorer

However, there are also some known issues that need to be addressed, including problems with the Taskbar and System Tray, as well as issues with File Explorer’s dark mode.

As always, Microsoft reminds Windows Insiders that features may not get released beyond the Dev Channel, and localization will happen over time. If you encounter any issues or bugs, please report them via Feedback Hub.

The update is available to users who have enabled the toggle in Settings > Windows Update*.
