Google has released several new features and improvements for Pixel 6 devices, including Remix, AI-powered notification summaries, Scam Detection for chat messages, upgraded VIP tools, personalized edits in Google Photos, Power Saving mode in Google Maps, and more.
Remix allows users to edit and reimagine any photo using the Gemini image generation and editing model. Users can share remixed photos with anyone, regardless of their phone, and even collaborate on remixing the same image back and forth.
The ‘Wicked: For Good’ theme packs have been added, which customize Pixel devices with wallpapers, icons, system sounds, and GIFs inspired by the film. Three styles – For Good, Glinda, and Elphaba – are available to choose from.
AI-powered notification summaries provide quicker access to conversation details, while Scam Detection for chat messages warns users about potential scams in real-time. VIP notifications have been upgraded with prioritization and crisis badges for added safety.
Google Photos now offers personalized edits, allowing users to “help me edit” photos to fix mistakes like forgotten sunglasses or uneven smiles. The feature uses labeled and organized face groups to ensure natural-looking results.
Power Saving mode has been added to Google Maps while driving, extending battery life up to four hours. Additionally, some Pixel features are being made available in more regions, including Scam Detection and Call Notes for users in the U.K., Ireland, India, Australia, Canada, Japan, and other countries.
Google’s new Private AI Compute platform powers Magic Cue’s timely suggestions, delivering speed and power while maintaining user security and privacy.
