Buddhist Monks Injured in Texas Traffic Collision

A traffic collision outside Houston has injured two Buddhist monks who were walking to Washington D.C. for a peaceful march. The incident occurred on November 19 when a pickup truck driver hit an escort car, pushing the vehicle into the monks along the shoulder of U.S. Route 90. One monk was taken by helicopter to the hospital with serious leg injuries, while another received minor injuries and continued their journey. Despite the incident, the group’s mission to promote peace and blessings is ongoing. The monks are part of a Fort Worth temple’s 110-day walk for peace across 10 states, stopping at historic landmarks and local communities along the way.
