Google is launching its new development platform, Antigravity, designed to help developers work more efficiently with autonomous agents. The AI-powered platform combines a familiar coding experience with an agent-first interface.
Antigravity aims to free developers from tedious tasks and context switching. It allows users to offload complex tasks to agents that can plan, execute, and verify code. Users can interact with these agents in two ways:
1. Agents generate Artifacts, such as task lists and screenshots, which allow developers to verify the agent’s logic at a glance.
2. Developers can leave feedback on these Artifacts, and the agent will incorporate their input without stopping its execution flow.
Antigravity treats learning as a core primitive, allowing agents to save useful context and code snippets to a knowledge base for future improvements. The platform is available today in public preview, compatible with MacOS, Windows, and Linux, and can be downloaded at no cost for individuals.
