Actress Sydney Sweeney has fired back at critics who body-shamed her after posting photos of herself working out. The Euphoria star, 27, took to Instagram to share a video featuring hateful comments about her appearance, including claims that she needed to “hit the gym” more often.
However, Sweeney quickly turned the tables by sharing videos and photos of herself engaging in various fitness activities, showcasing her impressive muscle gains. Her industry peers, including Riverdale’s Lili Reinhart, rallied around her, defending her against cruel comments.
Sweeney is preparing for a new role as 1990s boxing icon Christy Martin, which she says will be “physically and emotionally demanding.” She has spoken out about the importance of resilience, strength, and hope in overcoming challenges, both inside and outside the ring.
This isn’t the first time Sweeney has addressed online criticism. In May 2021, she posted a video responding to people calling her “ugly” on Twitter, and earlier this year, she responded to film producer Carol Baum’s comments about her appearance through her representatives.
