Windows 11 offers the option to turn off web search results from the search bar. This feature can be beneficial, but it may not work correctly sometimes. To stop internet results on Windows 11 search using Group Policy:
1. Open Start, type “Group Policy” and click to open.

3. Enable the policy “Turn off display of recent search entries in the File Explorer search box.”
4. Apply the changes by clicking the “Apply” button.
To turn off internet results using Registry:
1. Open Start, type “Registry” and click to open.
2. Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows.
3. Create a new key called “Explorer.”
4. Inside this key, create a new DWORD value called “DisableSearchBoxSuggestions.”
5. Set the value of this DWORD to 1.
After completing these steps, restart your computer and you will receive system and file-related results only.
Remember, disabling internet results also disables search highlights on the Windows Search home page.
