Mondelez Eyes Acquisition of Hershey for $50 Billion Deal

Mondelez International, the parent company of Oreo and Cadbury, is making a preliminary approach to acquire US chocolate maker Hershey Co. This potential deal would create a food giant with combined sales exceeding $47 billion. The Chicago-based company had previously explored a similar acquisition in 2016 but ultimately walked away. Now, Mondelez is again considering a partnership with Hershey, which owns beloved brands like Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups and Kisses.
