TCU Receives $3 Million Gift for Research Initiatives

A $3 million donation from the Bezos Family Foundation will support the College of Education at Texas Christian University (TCU). The endowment will cover research and community-engaged projects, helping the university reach its goal of R1 status in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education. This funding marks the latest contribution from the foundation, which has also donated $5 million to TCU previously.

The Bezos Family Foundation focuses on investing in “the science of learning” to support young people’s development. The university’s College of Education will use this funding to expand research and innovation, preparing future educational leaders for the same. This partnership is a long-term investment in faculty-led research that fuels innovation and strengthens the student experience.

The Bezos Family Foundation has established an endowed chair for early childhood education and a scholarship program for KinderFrogs, TCU’s lab school for children with intellectual disabilities. The foundation aims to support research that shapes the future of learning on a national scale.

This donation will further enhance TCU’s commitment to research and community engagement, aligning with the university’s goal of becoming an R1 institution.
