Jensen Huang, Nvidia’s billionaire CEO, has revealed that despite the company’s success, he still operates on a mix of fear, anxiety, and vulnerability. During an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience, Huang discussed his personal struggles with uncertainty and insecurity, even after becoming one of the world’s most valuable companies.
Huang shared his past experience of nearly going bankrupt in the mid-1990s due to flawed graphics technology, but emphasized that suffering is part of the journey. He believes adversity builds resilience, low expectations, and ultimately success. His greatest motivator is not wanting to fail, but rather the fear of failure itself.
Interestingly, both of Huang’s kids also work every day at Nvidia, including his children who started as interns in 2020 and 2022. This highlights the “work gene” present in the family, with no exceptions when it comes to dedication and commitment. Despite being exhausted, Huang remains driven to ensure the company’s success.
