Samsung Galaxy UI 8.5 Adds Custom Battery Style Options

Samsung’s latest One UI 8.5 update brings several visual tweaks to your smartphone’s experience. Among these changes is a new way to customize the battery percentage display in the status bar. Previously, users could only choose between showing the battery level as a number or hiding it entirely.

With One UI 8.5, Samsung introduces a fresh twist: you can now decide whether to show or hide the pill-shaped battery icon. To access this feature, head to the Settings app and navigate to Notifications > Status bar. There, toggle Show battery background on or off to switch between two styles. This allows for a cleaner look by disabling the icon, revealing just the battery level with a percentage sign next to it.
