Conservative Ohio GOP gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy has written an op-ed calling on Republicans to reject “groypers,” followers of white nationalist Nick Fuentes, who uses derogatory language against minority groups. Ramaswamy says those who espouse hate speech or racist ideologies have no place in the conservative movement.
In his op-ed, Ramaswamy shares his own experiences with racism on social media and highlights Fuentes’s behavior as an example of what he considers unacceptable. He emphasizes that criticizing Israel or immigrant visas is acceptable, but spreading hatred towards any ethnic group is not.
Ramaswamy urges Republicans to set firm boundaries against hate speech and division, likening it to setting limits for a child who tests those limits. Florida GOP Sen. Rick Scott praised Ramaswamy’s op-ed, saying he spoke truth to hate and stood strong against antisemitism and division.
