EU Cracks Down on iPhone 14 and iPhone SE Sales by Year’s End

Apple will stop selling iPhone 14 series, iPhone SE, and other devices with the Lightning port in the European Union by December 28. This is to comply with an EU regulation requiring new smartphones to feature a USB-C port for charging.

The company has also announced plans to discontinue some products that use its proprietary Lightning port, including the recently released iPhone 15 lineup, which switched to USB-C due to regional pressure. However, Apple will still sell the iPhone 15 in regions outside the EU.

On the other hand, stores in the EU will be allowed to sell their remaining stock of discontinued devices before they’re gone. The revamped iPhone SE, set to feature a USB-C port, is expected to retain the iPhone 14 body design and run on Apple Intelligence.

Despite this change, users in the EU can still choose from various other options, including the iPhone 15. It’s recommended that those who rely on Lightning port devices stock up on accessories before they’re discontinued for good.
