“Lumiere Awards 2024 Honors Outstanding Achievements in Film and Entertainment”

The Lumiere Awards, which recognize outstanding creative and technical achievements in film and entertainment, took place on its 16th annual celebration. The event honored artists, engineers, and innovators whose work pushes the boundaries of storytelling and cinematic technology.

“Sinners,” a live-action feature film, won the top prize for best live-action feature film. Delroy Lindo presented the award to producer Sev Ohanian. The film’s sound team also received an award for best audio. Voters praised “Sinners” as a “brilliant and meaningful story” that was “perfectly executed.”

The animated feature film “Zootopia 2” took home the award for best animated feature. Director Byron Howard accepted the award on behalf of the film’s crew.

Other notable winners include “KPop Demon Hunters,” which won two Lumiere awards for its original song and musical scene; “The King of Color,” a documentary about inventor Larry Herbert, who developed the Pantone Matching System; and “Wicked: For Good,” a motion picture – musical that perfectly integrated special effects and imagery.

Technical awards were also presented to organizations such as AMD, DisneyResearch|Studios Flawless, 6P Color, CoreWeave, and Google for their innovations in filmmaking technology. The Governor’s Award for Cinema Excellence was given to VUE for its new generation of premium EPIC screen cinemas.

The event also honored several individuals with prestigious awards, including Ethan Hawke, who received the 2026 Distinguished Artist Award, and Jon M. Chu, who won the inaugural Judy Garland Legacy Award.
