Actress Jill Jacobson Dies at 70 After Long Battle with Cancer

Actress Jill Jacobson, known for her roles in popular TV shows like Star Trek: The Next Generation and Who’s the Boss?, has died at the age of 70. According to friend Dan Harary, Jacobson passed away on December 8 after a long illness.

Jacobson, who received awards for her work as a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society, had previously spoken about her two-and-a-half-year struggle with esophageal cancer that left her feeling “pretty intense” and unable to function. However, she expressed her gratitude for overcoming the disease and her desire to continue helping others.

Friends and colleagues remember Jacobson’s brilliant comic timing, enthusiasm, and love of life, citing her joyful time on set as a highlight of their experiences working with her. A lifelong friend and co-star Caryn Richman praised Jacobson’s “brilliant” comedic skills and “joyful presence”.

Jacobson’s extensive career spanned multiple TV shows, indie films, and stage appearances, including her breakthrough role in cult horror film Nurse Sherri. She also performed stand-up comedy at notable venues like The Improv and The Comedy Store in Los Angeles.

The actress is survived by numerous relatives, friends, and her beloved dogs Benny and Kowalski, who will be deeply missed by those who knew her.
