Microsoft is working to resolve an ongoing issue affecting thousands of its users, causing delays and preventing some from accessing the Teams service. The outage has impacted users trying to join meetings, access the app, and send/receive chat messages with inline media.
The problem lies in Europe and the US, where users who try to send or receive messages with images or code snippets are experiencing delays and failures. Microsoft’s engineers are reviewing telemetry data to identify the root cause of the issue and develop a plan to fix it.
This is not the first time Microsoft has experienced an outage affecting Teams and other services. In October 2025, another incident caused MFA issues, impacting users trying to access Microsoft 365 services through single sign-on (SSO). Despite this, over 320 million people use Teams every month.
Update: The outage has now been resolved, with Microsoft confirming that the issue has been remediated after monitoring service telemetry.
