The conservative media movement is split into factions over Donald Trump’s decision to enter conflict with Iran. Key players include Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Mark Levin, and Ben Shapiro.
Conservative media personalities disagree on whether the US is too deferential to Israeli interests. Those who think this are mostly former Fox News hosts like Carlson and Kelly. Others, including Levin and Shapiro, support the American intervention in Iran and collaboration with Israel.
Former colleague Shapiro attacked fellow host Levin, calling him “unbelievable coward”. Levin had previously called Kelly a “Crazy Grandma Groyper”, a term associated with white supremacist groups. Right-wing extremist Laura Loomer also criticized Kelly, labeling her as “stupid bitch”.
In the past, Carlson and Levin have exchanged personal insults, including being labeled as “maggots” by each other. Fox News colleague Sean Hannity recently distanced himself from the infighting, saying he prioritizes his career success over engaging in conservative media conflicts.
Conservative media critics argue that the split over Iran is part of a broader issue – the “unravelling of the Trump/Maga coalition.” They say these clashes, which attract media attention and clicks, are good for business but also reveal underlying animosity among factions.
