Actors and writers from the popular franchise are back for a new spin-off. Chris Black and Matt Fraction created Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, which premiered on Apple TV+ in November 2023. The show is set after Godzilla’s 2014 release.
Two years later, Apple TV announced a prequel series with Wyatt Russell reprising his role as Lee Shaw. Although the premiere date has not been confirmed, production is expected to begin this summer.
In an interview, Russell expressed excitement about working on the spin-off. He said he’s eager to create new stories within the MonsterVerse, focusing on humans and monsters alike.
