Disney+ and BBC have teamed up to bring the hit children’s TV show Bluey to the big screen in a feature film. The movie is set to arrive in cinemas in 2027, followed by a streaming release on Disney+, ABC iView, and ABC Kids in Australia.
Bluey, a blue heeler dog, turns everyday events into adventures with her family. The show’s creator, Joe Brumm, has always envisioned a theatrical experience for the whole family to enjoy together.
The popular TV series, co-commissioned by ABC and BBC Studios in 2017, has won numerous awards, including Television Critics Association Awards and this year’s Peabody Award. It is available in over 140 countries and is the top show on CBeebies and Disney+ in the UK.
The film will feature the same vocal actors from the TV series, including Melanie Zanetti and David McCormack as Bluey’s parents, and music composed by Joff Bush.
