Mysterious drones have been spotted across the Northeast in recent weeks, with some sightings reported at night and sizes ranging from 6 feet in diameter. Local law enforcement and federal agencies are tight-lipped about the aerial activity, but a military expert claims that most of these drones likely originate from within the United States.
Col. William Dunn, president of Strategic Resilience Group, suggests that “it’s very difficult to fly an airplane the size of a vehicle into the United States without being detected.” He believes that larger drones, such as those spotted in New Jersey, would need to be refueled somewhere within the US.
Dunn also warns that smaller drones could be used for surveillance, potentially targeting sensitive areas like chemical or biological facilities. “They’re looking for something,” he said. “You know, there’s been a lot of speculation about these sightings.”
Despite concerns from lawmakers and experts, federal agencies seem to downplay the situation. The FBI has received 5,000 tips but found only a few warrants for further investigation, with no evidence of large-scale unmanned drone activity.
Lawmakers are urging federal officials to release more information about the suspected drone activity, citing public safety concerns and the need to quash unfounded conspiracies. As the investigation continues, Americans remain anxious about the true nature of these mysterious sightings.
