Meta spent a record-breaking $26.3 million lobbying the US government in 2025. The company hired over 86 lobbyists across 45 states and secretly funded a non-profit organization called Digital Childhood Alliance to promote app store liability laws. Meta is not alone, as Snap, X (formerly Twitter), and Pinterest also support the App Store Liability Act. However, some argue that the law could infringe on user privacy. The TBOTE Project analyzed Meta’s lobbying activities, revealing that the company has spent $2 billion on lobbying efforts in the US since 2023.
