The eurozone’s consumer confidence indicator plummeted to -16.3 in March, its lowest point since October 2023, due to rising energy costs and Middle East tensions affecting households. This represents a sharper decline than the previous month (-12.3) and is below economists’ expectations of minus 14.1.
