Supreme Court Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson recently took to the Broadway stage in a one-night-only performance written especially for her in the musical “& Juliet.” The role marked a lifelong dream come true for the 54-year-old justice.
In an interview with Vladimir Duthiers, Jackson spoke about the production’s message of female empowerment and control over one’s destiny. She stated that she did not let her background hold her back from pursuing her passion for theater.
“I didn’t give up on my dreams,” Jackson said. “I think the lesson is don’t be deterred, anything is possible.”
Jackson’s appearance on Broadway reinforced her belief that with determination and perseverance, individuals can achieve their goals, regardless of obstacles or challenges. As a trailblazer as a Black woman in the Supreme Court, she serves as an inspiration to others.
