Trump Seeks Answers on Tech Moguls’ Treatment of Him

US President-elect Donald Trump expressed his surprise over why major tech moguls did not report their meetings with him during his first term, but are now eagerly seeking to meet him ahead of his second term.

During a press conference at Mar-a-Lago on Monday, Trump pointed out the stark contrast between his past and present relationships with notable figures in the tech industry. In 2016, he said “everybody was fighting me,” whereas this time around, “everybody wants to be my friend.” Notably, Trump met with Apple CEO Tim Cook and Google co-founder Sergey Brin just days before the press conference. Despite having significant interactions with these leaders, Trump claims his meetings were not reported by the media.

Trump attributed his new popularity among tech moguls to a change in his personality, joking that “my personality changed or something.” However, when asked about his recent meeting with Google CEO Sundar Pichai, he emphasized the importance of reporting such encounters. He questioned why the media did not cover their meetings during his first term, citing Brin’s involvement as a key factor. Trump expressed his astonishment at the lack of coverage, stating “Nobody picked that up,” despite having significant interactions with these influential figures.
