Nestle, the world’s largest packaged food producer, has introduced a new protein shot drink aimed at helping people manage hunger while losing weight. The Boost Pre-Meal Hunger Support contains 10 grams of protein and 45 calories per serving. Available on Amazon and CVS stores, the shots cost $10.99 for a pack of four.
According to Nestle’s chief technology officer, Stefan Palzer, the product increases natural GLP-1 levels, which help regulate hunger and satiety. GLP-1 is a hormone that regulates blood sugar and reduces appetite, similar to weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and Wegovy.
Industry analysts predict the global market for these treatments will reach $105 billion by 2030, with expected adoption of around 31.5 million people in the US by 2035. This marks the latest move by Nestle to target the growing market for weight loss products. The company has previously launched a line of frozen food products, Vital Pursuit, targeting GLP-1 users.
