The New York Jets are moving forward with a rebuild, and quarterback Aaron Rodgers is likely to explore new options if he doesn’t retire ahead of the 2025 season. According to Dianna Russini, during conversations with Rodgers about his future with the team, the Jets were open to him returning on certain terms. However, these conditions included full involvement in the offseason and a step back from some of his divisive weekly media duties.
Russini stated that if Rodgers wanted to stay with the team, he would have to attend all training camp sessions and refrain from appearing on “Pat McAfee Show.” This move would essentially give new head coach Aaron Glenn control over the quarterback’s role. Despite these stipulations, Russini believes it was unlikely for Rodgers to return for 2025.
Rodgers’ future is uncertain as he weighs his options and considers retirement or a new team. If he decides to stay with the Jets, there’s a good chance he’ll discuss his plans on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
