Aaron Rodgers Tossed as Jets Fall to Bills 40-14

Aaron Rodgers had a chance to make history on Sunday, but it didn’t go his way. Trailing 40-0 with just one touchdown pass needed to reach the milestone, he was pulled from the game by interim coach Jeff Ulbrich in favor of Tyrod Taylor.

Instead, Rodgers made history for all the wrong reasons – becoming the most sacked quarterback in NFL history in a single game. He passed for just 112 yards, threw two interceptions, and was sacked four times, including one that resulted in a safety.

Rodgers’ struggles continued to mount as he was called for an unnecessary roughness penalty after his second interception, leading to a laugh from the referee and Rodgers himself. With the Jets trailing 40-0, it was clear Ulbrich had seen enough.

Taylor took over and led the team to its first scoring drive, which ended with a touchdown to Garrett Wilson. The veteran quarterback then threw another TD pass late in the game, but it wasn’t enough to stem the tide of a 40-14 loss.

Rodgers’ quest for his 500th passing touchdown will have to wait until the regular season finale, and it’s unclear if he’ll be back in a Jets uniform. The team has struggled all season, finishing with a 4-12 record.
