AARP Movies for Grownups Awards Honor Best Films of 2022

The 24th annual AARP Movies for Grownups Awards have taken place, recognizing the best films and TV shows of 2022 for audiences over 50. Hosted by Alan Cumming at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Conclave and The Complete Unknown led the nominations. In the end, The Complete Unknown took home the top prize for Best Movie for Grownups.

The ceremony was postponed from January 11 due to last month’s devastating Los Angeles County wildfires. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to local organizations aiding in wildfire recovery efforts through the AARP Foundation.

This year’s winners include:

* Demi Moore and Adrien Brody for their performances in The Substance and The Brutalist, respectively.
* Peter Sarsgaard as the best supporting actor in September 5.
* Jacques Audiard for his direction of Emilia PĂ©rez.
* Winnie Holzman and Dana Fox for writing Wicked.
* Sing Sing for Best Ensemble.

TV winners include Jodie Foster for her role in True Detective: Night Country and Jon Hamm for Fargo. The AARP Movies for Grownups Awards will air on PBS’s Great Performances this Sunday, February 23 at 7pm ET/6pm CT, with streaming available on the PBS website and app.
