Abercrombie CEO’s Sex Charges Compromise Due to Dementia Concerns

The defense team of Michael Jeffries, the former CEO of Abercrombie & Fitch, is pushing for a competency hearing due to concerns over his dementia diagnosis. Lawyers argue that the 80-year-old may not be capable of fully assisting his attorneys in court. A neuropsychologist’s evaluation has concluded that Jeffries likely suffers from dementia with behavioral disturbance, Alzheimer’s disease, and Lewy body dementia.

This development comes as Jeffries faces federal sex trafficking and interstate prostitution charges. Prosecutors claim he lured men into sex parties by promising modeling opportunities for Abercrombie ads. The competency hearing is set to take place in June, where experts will testify about Jeffries’ mental state.
