Acer Unveils Massive Gaming Handhelds with Large Displays at CES 2025

Acer has announced two new gaming handheld devices, the Nitro Blaze 8 and Nitro Blaze 11, which will launch in Q2 2025. Both devices are powered by AMD’s Ryzen 7 8840HS processor and Radeon 780M graphics, making them competitive with other popular options like the Lenovo Legion Go and Asus ROG Ally X.

The main difference between the two devices is their display size, with the Nitro Blaze 11 boasting a massive 10.95-inch screen, while the Nitro Blaze 8 has an 8.8-inch display. The larger screen on the Nitro Blaze 11 makes it stand out, but also increases its weight to 1050g.

In terms of features, both devices share many similarities, including Hall Effect triggers and sticks, 16GB of memory, and up to 2TB of storage. However, the Nitro Blaze 11 has some additional features that set it apart, such as a front camera, sturdy kickstand, detachable controllers, and three USB ports.

The larger display on the Nitro Blaze 11 makes it an attractive option for gamers who want a device with a lot of screen real estate. While its battery life may be shorter due to its larger size, it still has potential as a desktop replacement without needing a separate dock.

Both devices are expected to launch in Q2 2025 and will compete in the gaming handheld market.
