‘Actions Speak Louder’: Harsh Goenka Mourns Dr Manmohan Singh’s Passing

India is mourning the loss of former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, who passed away on December 26 at the age of 92. Singh was a true statesman whose quiet demeanor belied his transformative impact on modern India. A renowned economist and leader, he played a key role in shaping the country’s economic reforms.

Born in 1929, Singh completed his education from prestigious institutions such as Cambridge University and Oxford University. He began his career as an Economic Advisor to the Commerce Ministry in 1971 before holding various vital positions. In 1991, he became a member of the Rajya Sabha and was later sworn in as Prime Minister twice.

Singh’s passing has been met with widespread tributes from people across the country. His legacy will be remembered for his intellect, integrity, and leadership qualities that inspired generations. As billionaire chairman Harsh Goenka noted, “Actions speak louder than words,” reflecting Singh’s commitment to putting his vision into practice rather than just talking about it.

AIIMS Delhi announced Singh’s death after he was admitted with sudden loss of consciousness at his residence on December 26. Despite efforts by doctors to revive him, Singh was declared dead at 9:51 pm. The hospital paid tribute to Singh’s life and legacy, stating that he had been treated for age-related medical conditions.
