Malcolm-Jamal Warner, known for his role as Theo Huxtable in the hit TV sitcom “The Cosby Show”, drowned while swimming with his 8-year-old daughter off the coast of Costa Rica. On Sunday, surfers spotted him and his daughter struggling and one surfer used a board to bring her to safety. Another lifeguard pulled Warner and another surfer to shore, where he received CPR.
An autopsy confirmed that Warner’s cause of death was accidental asphyxiation by submersion due to being caught in a rip current. He was 54 years old. Both surfers who helped rescue him survived.
