Acura Revives RSX Sedan as Premium All-Wheel Drive Electric Crossover

Acura is reviving the iconic RSX sedan as a premium all-wheel drive electric crossover. The new model will be built on Honda’s global EV Platform, marking the first time an EV is engineered in-house by Acura and its parent company. The RSX Prototype, set to debut at two Monterey Car Week events, showcases the latest advancements in electric vehicle technology.

The RSX will feature Honda’s proprietary Asimo operating system, which controls core functions and receives updates over the air, theoretically improving over time. This new operating system will underpin Acura’s Zero series vehicles, including the upcoming 0 SUV.

Design-wise, the RSX Prototype retains sharp angles reminiscent of its Performance EV concept counterpart. The assertive front end boasts slit-like daytime running lights and a distinctive “ACURA” logo on the tailgate. The vehicle’s coupe-like silhouette hints at impressive performance capabilities.

Acura has not released key specs yet, but the Prototype features multi-spoke 21-inch rims and bright red calipers with large front Brembo brakes. Bidirectional charging, allowing the RSX to power other appliances, is a notable innovation for Acura’s electric vehicles. The RSX will be assembled at Honda’s EV Hub in Ohio, starting production in the second half of 2026.
