Adobe has launched its popular design software Photoshop for mobile devices, starting with iOS. The new app allows users to access both free and paid features through a user-friendly interface designed for on-the-go use.
Photoshop for iPhone integrates seamlessly with the desktop version, including layering and masking tools, optimized for mobile screens. Users can also access premium features like Photoshop on the web for a monthly subscription fee of $7.99. Existing Photoshop subscribers already have access to the app’s features.
The new app is designed to attract younger users who prefer using their phones for creative purposes. Adobe aims to compete with popular editing apps like Snapseed, Picsart, and Canva mobile. The app also allows current Photoshop users to work across devices and edit images anywhere.
Free users can use core tools like selections, layers, and masks to combine and blend images, remove parts of an image, or recolor and replace them. Paid users gain access to additional features, including Firefly-powered AI tools, object selection, and content-aware fill.
“We spent a lot of time talking to creatives and creators to understand their unique use cases on mobile devices,” said Shambhavi Kadam, senior director of product management at Adobe Photoshop. The app has been tested by early users for creating digital art, mood boards, and other creative projects.
Photoshop on iPhone is now available worldwide in the Apple App Store.
