Adobe has launched a free public beta of its Content Authenticity app, aimed at solving the growing problem of AI-generated images blurring the line between real and fake content. The app allows creators to attach secure metadata, known as Content Credentials, to their digital work, ensuring their creations are properly attributed and protected.
Content Credentials, which include the creator’s name, date created, and tools used, provide peace of mind for artists and designers. These credentials stay with the work forever, even if screenshots or images are shared, allowing creators to control how their work is used. The app also enables users to signal their preferences on whether their work should be used in generating AI training data.
To apply Content Credentials, users can batch-apply metadata to up to 50 files at a time using the Adobe Content Authenticity app or the Inspect tool within the web application. Future plans include support for larger file sizes and more media types, as well as integration with Creative Cloud apps like Photoshop and Lightroom. LinkedIn will also expand its support for Content Credentials in the upcoming months.
With this app, creators can take control of their digital work and ensure it is properly attributed and protected, while users can distinguish between authentic and AI-generated content.
