Adrian Peterson Arrested for Driving While Impaired

Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson was arrested early Friday morning in Hennepin County, Minnesota, for allegedly driving while impaired. The Minnesota State Patrol said Peterson was pulled over at 3:20 a.m. after speeding on Highway 77 and 66th Street in Richfield.

According to the state patrol, Peterson was driving 83 mph in a 55 mph zone when he blew a breath test with an alcohol concentration of 0.14. The 40-year-old Peterson has been released from custody and his bail is set at $4,000.

Peterson, a ten-time Pro Bowl selection, had a successful stint with the Minnesota Vikings, earning numerous accolades including NFL MVP and Offensive Player of the Year in 2012. He was drafted by the team in 2007 as their first-round pick and spent 10 seasons with the franchise. Peterson’s next court appearance is scheduled for May 9 at 9:00 a.m.
