The annual Awesome Games Done Quick (AGDQ) charity speedrunning event is just around the corner, starting this Sunday, January 5 at 8:30am PT. While many gamers are tuning in for epic speedruns of beloved games like Elden Ring and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, one enthusiast can’t get enough of some of the worst games ever made.
The AGDQ event will feature a week-long schedule of gaming marathons, including a live performance of Elden Ring played with a saxophone as a controller and a Crazy Taxi run with a live band backing the music. However, the highlight for this gamer is the “Awful Block” segment, which showcases some of the most notorious lowpoints in gaming history, such as Superman 64 and Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing.
AGDQ benefits the Prevent Cancer Foundation, and the event will also feature speedruns on other games not yet mentioned. The event can be followed live on Twitch or caught up on YouTube after it’s finished airing. Charity speedrunning icon Games Done Quick has a new owner, but they promise that the “GDQ vibes” won’t change.
The Prevent Cancer Foundation is supported by the AGDQ charity event, which will take place from January 5 to January 11.
