A new AI-for-evil model, WormGPT 4, has emerged with lifetime access available for $220. This commercial Language Model (LLM) allows attackers to generate malware and steal data without needing to trick other models like ChatGPT or Claude Code.
WormGPT 4 can write ransomware scripts that encrypt PDF files on Windows hosts, leaving behind a ransom note with a 72-hour deadline. The model also includes options for data exfiltration via Tor.
While this AI-for-evil tool poses significant risks, it cannot automate attacks entirely. Infosec researchers warn that while the tools generated by WormGPT 4 and another LLM called KawaiiGPT can be used in real-world attacks with some human tweaking, they have successfully lowered the barrier to entry for basic code generation and social engineering.
KawaiiGPT is available on GitHub and offers a free alternative. Researchers found it easy to use and generate malicious scripts, including spear phishing emails and lateral movement scripts for Linux hosts.
