AI-Powered Siri to Handle Multiple Commands in iOS 27

Apple is working on an updated version of Siri that can handle multiple commands in a single query. This feature will allow users to make multi-step requests, such as getting directions and sending those directions to someone in a message.

The new Siri will be more intelligent than before, understanding what’s on the user’s screen and being able to access the web for information. It may also have image generation capabilities and can summarize information from the web.

In addition to these features, Apple is testing an AI-powered keyboard that could suggest grammar fixes and alternative words. However, it’s unclear if this feature will be included in iOS 27.

The goal of the updated Siri is to make it a chatbot capable of competing with popular chatbots like Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini. It will be deeply integrated into iOS, iPadOS, and macOS, but may start being available as a standalone app for chatbot interactions.

Apple plans to preview these updates at WWDC 2026, which begins on June 8, and is expected to release the first beta of iOS 27 with the new Siri capabilities by September. Some features might be delayed until an iOS 27 update next spring.
