Air-raid sirens sound in central Israel after Yemen missile

Air-raid sirens echoed across central Israel at 4 a.m. on Thursday, triggered by a Houthi missile fired from Yemen. The IDF confirmed that the missile was shot down before entering Israeli airspace.

Thirteen people were injured while seeking shelter, and three suffered panic attacks, according to Magen David Adom (MDA). This marked the first time in two months that the Houthis had targeted Tel Aviv and Jerusalem areas.

US strikes against Yemen continued on Wednesday night, with targets hit in Sanaa, according to reports from Al-Masirah TV channel. The Houthis claimed they aimed a “Palestine 2” hypersonic ballistic missile at Ben-Gurion Airport.

In response to the attack, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated: “The Houthis are already paying [the price] and will continue to pay.”
