Airbus Passenger Plane Incident in South Korea

A South Korean Airbus plane, operated by Air Busan, experienced an emergency landing at Gimhae International Airport due to an undetected fire on board. The incident occurred just before 10:30 p.m., with all 169 passengers and seven crew safely evacuated. Three individuals sustained minor injuries from the smoke and flames. Firefighters responded after detecting the blaze in the plane’s tail, and footage showed evacuation slides deployed alongside emergency workers battling the flames. Burned holes along the fuselage roof were later observed. This marks a month since one of South Korea’s deadliest aviation tragedies when a Jeju Air plane sank during an emergency landing, claiming the lives of all but two crew members on board. Air Busan is part of Asiana Airlines, which was acquired by Korean Air last year. Airbus confirmed its awareness of the incident and is in liaisons with Air Busan for further details. The company did not immediately respond to inquiries.
