Apple is set to announce several new features for its native apps during WWDC25, including iOS 26 and iPadOS 26 updates. While some of these features have been previously reported by 9to5Mac, five exclusive AirPods features have also surfaced.
New head gestures are expected to be introduced, building upon last year’s Conversation Awareness feature. Users will be able to adjust the volume with ease without needing to physically interact with their device. Additionally, Apple is working on detecting when a user falls asleep and automatically pausing playback, which could make for a convenient sleep timer feature.
Camera control will also be made available on AirPods, allowing users to trigger the iPhone or iPad camera with a click on the AirPods stem. A new audio mix mode, similar to the one introduced last year, is expected to provide studio-quality sound.
Further enhancements include improved classroom support for shared iPads and potentially wider availability of this feature. Apple has been working on streamlining the pairing process, making it easier for students to connect their devices in a class setting.
While details are still scarce, these features promise to enhance user experiences with AirPods. WWDC25 kicks off Monday, June 9, and 9to5Mac will provide full coverage of the keynote.
